About Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disorder that affects a person’s joints, most frequently those in the hands and feet. It can also impact various other systems of the body. RA causes the immune system to attack the body’s tissue, including joints. Symptoms include painful swelling at joints, and eventually bone erosion and joint deformity. RA can’t be cured but it’s progress can often be slowed with physical therapy and medication.
